The specific gravity of Barite is 4.2-4.6. The specification is low since impurities are associated with the barite. This process is actually beneficiation process, abandon of smaller proportion gangue, thus achieving a rise in the proportion of barite.

Beneficiation Equipment used primarily is jig machine. Jigger can be used to wash coarse, medium and fine-grained barite ore effectively discard low specific gravity and low grade barite gangue as well as with the living body, so that the proportion of barite or grade has been greatly increased. Currently Jig machine has been successfully applied to the barite concentration, becoming the core equipment of the barite beneficiation.
